Glee

Now that it's fall, that means all the shows I watch are back on the air! I just caught up on Glee, which I think is one of the best shows out there right now!

If you haven't watched Glee (I don't know why you haven't), it's about these kids at at William McKinley High School, who are in a glee club "New Directions". They are basically the bottom of the high school food chain and super unpopular. Even the popular kids that join are made fun of. So there is a lot of singing, and for anyone who likes musicals, it's pretty awesome. Even if you don't like musicals. Because it is not a musical haha.

This is the second season and they seems to have a slate of celebrity cameos lined up for all their episodes! Which is great, but I don't really know how they can work everything into the story line. Oh well. It's a must see show (Chuck is also a great one) that airs Tuesdays at 8pm.

Boston Legal

Since I started watching The Gates, I felt like watching more stuff that Rhona Mitra stars in, so I pulled out my set of Boston Legal. Boston Legal is a spin off of the series The Practice, where a few characters from that show moved over to this show. It started out as such a good and clever law show, but after all my favorite actresses left (at the beginning of season two), it totally went downhill. They couldn't seem to keep any of the actors around long enough to establish a good cast of characters - I guess they knew a sinking ship when they saw one. Everyone started to get outrageous and crazy, and the whole show became a joke. I stopped watching after a while, but I definitely suggest watching the first season (I'm on episode 15 now) and probably second season as well. I keep rooting for Alan Shore and Tara Wilson's (played by Mitra) relationship <3, but she leaves soon after and Alan gets sad and I'm sad because there is no romance anymore, LOL. Maybe I should start watching soaps or something instead, hmm.

The Gates

Now that rerun season is here and all my favorite tv shows are off the air, it's time to either catch up on older shows I've never finished watching, or find some of the new shows that are being churned out. (I'm doing a bit of both.) I was reading a magazine and the new show The Gates caught my eye, because it had an actress I like in it (Rhona Mitra) (though it said the show is pretty crappy). What turned me off a little was that she was a vampire. I don't have anything against vampires; I like vampire shows and movies as much as the next person, but I know the writers only wrote that in because of the whole Twilight craze, and I HATE Twilight. I watched the pilot, and there are also wolves (werewolves). Then I watched the second episode, and there's now a succubus. Um, it's getting a little weird. I'm not sure if I'll continue watching this show or not, favorite actress or no. It's so unclear what is really happening in the plot.

What show do you suggest I watch?

The Nanny

I've been trying to get through all my TV shows that I have in boxed sets and now that I'm done with Friends and Mad About You, I've moved onto The Nanny. So far there are only 3 seasons out on DVD, and I used my free Amazon.com gift cards that I got from Irazoo to buy the 3rd season, woot woot. I've powered through the first 2 seasons, and now I'm in the middle of the 3rd.

The Nanny is a hilarious sitcom from the 90's. I used to watch it when I was in elementary school, and my friends and I were totally obsessed because it was so funny! Fran Drescher stars as Fran Fine, a cosmetics sales girl who was hired as a nanny off the street by Broadway producer Maxwell Sheffield when there was a confusion. Her unorthodox way of raising the children stir up some pretty hilarious antics and the banter between the butler Niles, and Mr. Sheffield's business partner CC is pretty great too.

I'd definitely recommend this show because it's one of my all time favorites! I can't wait for the rest of the seasons to come out on DVD (apparently it's taking so long because there are a lot of cameos from a ton of famous stars and they need to sign release forms or something like that!).

Chuck - Best TV Show Ever!

Before I thought Alias was the best TV show ever. But then after the second season, everything went downhill. Plus back then, I didn't have cable, and so I had to watch every episode in fuzzy black and white, with jumping lines. I was THAT dedicated a fan. But I got busy with school and I never finished the 5th season. I have all 5 seasons on DVD, but haven't had the chance to re-watch everything (I only got up to season 2).

But now there is another show, Chuck. It's yet another spy show (I don't know what the appeal of spy shows is to me), but it's less dark than Alias, it's a comedy/action show. And it's the best show ever. And the best episode EVER just aired this week.

Chuck Bartowski is a computer nerd who gets a government computer, the Intersect, downloaded into his head when his ex-best friend (who is a spy) sends it to him. The CIA find out, and Sarah Walker comes in from the CIA to be his handler, as well as John Casey, a member of the NSA. They have to use the information that Chuck has to complete missions. Chuck falls for Sarah, but there are so many people that get in the way, including Bryce, the ex-best friend mentioned above, and Superman, Brandon Routh, who plays Shaw.

But FINALLY, after 3 seasons, Chuck and Sarah are together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAY!! Now we have to wait until Apr 26 for the next episode. Can't wait! Go catch up on Chuck now!

Better Off Ted

I've been trying to catch up on TV shows lately, starting with Better Off Ted. I'm on season two now and just watched 2 episodes last night. It's such a funny and quirky show, I love it! It stars Jay Harrington as Ted, the research of Research and Development at Veridian Dynamics. Portia De Rossi plays Ted's Boss, Veronica, who is crazy and efficient and doesn't bother with anything nonsense. Ted is trying to survive in this company with no ethics while trying to raise his seven year old daughter Rose. Anyways, it's a really good show! I'm going to watch a few more eps now lol.

Hercules The Legendary Journeys

Recently my sister and I started re-watching Hercules The Legendary Journeys. She bought it on ebay a few years ago and we haven't really looked at it. This series starring Kevin Sorbo as Hercules came out in 1995, after several movies in 1994. We used to watch it back then, and it was such a cool show. Now that I watch it again, there are so many cheesy effects and lame dialogue LOL, but that's okay, because it's still a pretty decent show. A little later, there was a spinoff, Xena Warrior Princess starring Lucy Lawless. My sister also bought that on ebay, but I think we're going to try and finish all six seasons of Hecules first! We have such a gigantic DVD collection - I'm trying to watch everything we've ever gotten at least once before buying anymore, but it's going to take a LONG time. I'm going to be on my death bed, just watch all the special features on all our DVDs, just you watch!
